Pai Gow Poker Minimums

I came upon Pai Gow Poker much later in my gambling years. I definitely regret it. It’s a rare casino game in that it’s quite slow to play, which means you can play for quite some time even at a low budget if you can find an affordable table. It also lends itself to plenty of friendly chats, in part because of the game’s pace, but also because none of the actions you take affect other players. I definitely recommend it. As this is a bit of a more obscure game, you can read a quick summary of how to play here.

*One of the highlights of my last Las Vegas trip was being able to play Pai Gow poker at a ten dollar minimum. The dealers were relaxed, and the players friendly. My wife and I definitely had a blast. Unfortunately, no such tables exist in Atlantic City. If you ever come across a ten dollar table, please reach out to me and let me know where you saw it. Wild Wild West seems like a good fit for this, but it might be too obscure a game for the younger crowd the casino is trying to attract. It currently isn’t available at any minimum there.

Unfortunately, finding a cheap table for Pai Gow is a weekday players game. Once the weekend rolls around, those minimums will shoot up. Also keep in mind that because there are fewer Pai Gow players out there, you aren’t likely to find all that many tables in any single casino. If you’re playing on the weekend, Borgata is your best bet. They have a better-than-most minimum of $20 at all times. Your wallet will thank you.
